Prerequisites

To be eligible for Resident/Fellow membership, you must:

  • Be a medical or osteopathic doctor
  • Be currently enrolled in a certified orthopaedic residency program or a fellowship within North America

Prerequisites

To be eligible for Candidate Membership, you must:

  • Be a medical or osteopathic doctor
  • Have completed an orthopaedic surgery residency
  • Be within two years post-orthopaedic surgery residency completion or within two years post-fellowship,
  • Practice or reside in the continent of North America
  • Were an AANA Resident and/or AANA Fellow Member; cannot apply to be a Candidate Member

 

Dues & Fees

  • Annual dues for Candidate Members are currently $250 per year.

Active Member

  • Be a medical or osteopathic doctor
  • Have completed an orthopaedic surgery residency
  • Practice or reside in the continent of North America
  • Be certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American Osteopathic Association, or the Consejo Mexicano de Orthopedia

To submit your application, you will need to upload the following files:

 

Dues & Fees

  • A $100 application fee will be collected when you submit your application.
  • Annual dues for Active Members are currently $750 per year. You will be activated as an Associate Member, pending your approval for Active Membership. Once approved you will automatically be upgraded to Active.
  • Annual Dues for Active U.S. Military Members are currently $250 per year. To qualify for this discount, send a copy of your military ID or letter from your superior officer to membership@aana.org.

 

Obligations of Membership

To maintain your membership, you must:

  • Pay your dues
  • Adhere to all rules, regulations and criteria as outlined in AANA’s Bylaws
  • Attend at least one AANA Annual Meeting within each three year period.

  • Be certified by or awaiting application for certification by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American Osteopathic Association, or the Consejo Mexicano de Orthopedia

Dues & Fees

  • Annual dues for Associate Members are currently $750 per year. You will be invoiced for your first year's dues upon approval of your application.
  • Annual Dues for Active U.S. Military Members are currently $250 per year. To qualify for this discount, send a copy of your military ID or letter from your superior officer to membership@aana.org.

  • Be certified by the Orthopaedic Board or College in the country where you practice, or have training that corresponds to that required by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or the Consejo Mexicano de Orthopedia

Dues & Fees

  • Annual dues for International Members are currently $150 per year.
Please reach out to membership@aana.org if you reside in a country listed in the Low Income Economy section on the World Bank Country and Lending Groups to see if you qualify for a reduced rate on your membership, sponsored by the AANA Education Foundation.

Prerequisites

To be eligible for Affiliate Allied Health Member, you must:

  • Be an M.D., D.O., D.D.S., D.M.D., D.V.M., Ed.D., A.T.C., P.A., P.T., R.N. or non-orthopaedic related professional, such as, researchers, research assistants, medical assistants, team and athletic trainers
  • Demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge or contributions in the science of arthroscopy

To be eligible for Senior Membership, you must:

  • Be 65 years or older
  • Have been an AANA Member for over 5 years

To be eligible for Emeritus Membership, you must:

  • Be retired and no longer treating or consulting patients
  • Have been an AANA Member for over 10 years

Dues & Fees

  • Annual dues for Senior Members are currently $375 per year
  • Annual dues for Emeritus Members are waived
