Scholarship Application Is Now Open
Description
The AANA Education Foundation will award 50 scholarships for Orthopaedic Residents to attend the 2025 AANA Annual Meeting in Washington D.C., May 8-10, 2025. PGY3, PGY4 or PGY5 Orthopaedic Residents residing in North America during the 2024-2025 academic year and who have an interest in minimally invasive or arthroscopic surgery are encouraged to apply.
This is an exclusive opportunity to attend the AANA Annual Meeting; learn more about the latest arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques and trends; and network with leading educators and surgeons.
The scholarship includes:
- Registration to the 2025 AANA Annual Meeting and Resident/Fellow Education Track
- Up to $550 travel reimbursement.
Please note: Members can apply for multiple scholarships throughout the year, but will only be awarded one scholarship per calendar year.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicant must:
- Be an AANA member in good standing. AANA Resident Membership is free! See details and apply.
- Be an Orthopaedic Resident in their third, fourth or fifth year of training (excluding time spent in research).
- Be enrolled in a training program located in North America
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for and have a sincere interest in arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery.
- Be in good academic standing.
- Obtain recommendation from his/her orthopaedic training program director.
Application Details
- Application form and supporting material must be received by January 31, 2025. Incomplete application(s) received after this date will not be considered.
- Application must include the completed online form, a CV, personal statement (not exceeding 500 words) and letter of recommendation from your training program director. The personal statement should describe your interest in arthroscopic surgery, what you hope to learn from the experience and how you will share what you learn.

The AANA25 Resident Scholarship is funded by the AANA Education Foundation with generous donations from individuals and corporations.
Scholarship Application Is Now Open
The AANA Education Foundation will be awarding seven scholarships to attend either the AANA25 meeting in Washington, D.C., May 8-10, 2025, or an E.L.I.T.E. Skills Training Course (see dates below) at the OLC in Rosemont, Illinois. Each scholarship covers course registration and up to $2,000 in travel reimbursement.
E.L.I.T.E. Skills Training Course Dates:
- June 21, 2025
- October 25, 2025
- December 6, 2025
If you select an E.L.I.T.E. Skills Training Lab Course, you can choose an area of focus —Hip, Knee, or Shoulder—for your selected course date. These courses feature all-star faculty who will guide attendees through discussions on the latest clinical algorithms, supported by peer-reviewed publications, and cutting-edge surgical techniques. Additional learning opportunities include lectures by expert faculty, hands-on cadaveric surgical labs, case-based panel discussions, and pearls on how to avoid complications and ensure clinical success.
