Future Scope

A career in orthopaedics is an extremely fulfilling pathway to success in medicine. Learn more about the opportunities in the field of orthopaedics and arthroscopy by joining AANA and DePuy Synthes, The Orthopaedics Company of Johnson & Johnson, for Future Scope: Introduction to Arthroscopy and Orthopaedics. This biannual course series is intended for first and second-year medical students who are underrepresented minorities in medicine, including women. Both organizations are committed to making lasting and impactful change with the course’s unique positioning to address gender and racial disparities in the field of orthopaedics.

 

Each course will address the fundamentals of an orthopaedic practice, as well as professional insights and opportunities within the field. Attendees will learn from several renowned Orthopaedic Surgeons as they do a deep dive into a day in their lives, how they got started in orthopaedics and more. Attendees can also look forward to roundtable discussions, a special diversity and inclusion lecture, cadaveric demonstrations, simulated experiences, appropriate steps to take in pursuing a career path in orthopaedics and much more.
